This is a kickoff meeting to introduce the idea of Media United to the MCDM Alum (and soon to be!) community, and provide an opportunity for interested people to help shape the organization and collaboratively make it a powerful resource for professionals in emerging media disciplines.
Specifically Media United is looking to help fill three related needs:
1. The lack of an active alumni group for MCDM
2. A desire to connect MCDM alums with alums of non-MCDM programs working in related areas
3. A professional development organization open to anyone that takes a broad view of the media landscape in the tradition of MCDM, rather than focus on specialist niches
This meeting will be an open format, shaped by the ideas and questions of the attendees. The outcomes will be posted to the Media United website, currently in a development mode, which will serve as a repository for information on events, job opportunities, and Media United member profiles and resources.
I you expect to attend, please register so we may plan effectively. The room capacity is 25, but if more people register we’ll find a way to make it work.
Great idea! I don’t think I will be able to attend, but I was thinking perhaps some Eastside located events – maybe a network lunch for us working in Bellevue
Agree! Great idea. I won’t be able to attend the kickoff meeting as planned, but would love to be involved in shaping and organizing. I look forward to hearing how the first gathering goes.

How did it go?
The meeting went well. I promised a write up on it, but I’ve been completely buried in work and school this week. It will probably be this weekend before I get that done.
